- Return to the Canguçu research center for lunch,
- This time we will get around the place by car to try to observe and photograph the Kaempfer's woodpecker (Celeus obrieni) endemic to Brazil, a species we thought to be extinct since 1926 and then found in nature again in the year 2006! We can also go for a hike in the central lands (only during the dry season), to have a chance to observe capuchin monkeys (Sapajus apella) and the wonderful toucans including the channel-billed toucan (Ramphastos vitellinus). In the green season, we will continue exploring the river and parts of it that we can’t go through during the dry season. This is where the wildlife likes to take refuge in. If we are lucky enough, we may get to meet the pink dolphins (Inia geoffrensis), which live only in river waters as well as the giant otters (Pteronura brasiliensis).
- Return to the Canguçu research center for dinner and to take a well-deserved rest.
