Chapada
What is a chapada?
It is one or many plain area in a mountainous region. This means a height above 600 meters, as Brazil doesn’t have proper mountains. Those wide plains, called chapadas, have brush vegetation and a number of waterfalls. Chapadas are mostly located in a Brazilian specific biotope called “Cerrado”
We can find Chapadas in North, North-Eastern and mainly Mid-west Brazil. National Park services are often found in the Chapadas in order to preserve their natural resources.
